Test, development and production applications in the automotive industry require the acquisition, processing and transmission of high speed data with the Ethernet or USB protocols. Systems must offer high performance, while being easy to program, and robust enough to operate enough in harsh industrial environments.
For example, in one customer application, Orange Tree developed an Ethernet system for a diesel engine fuel injection real-time test system. Orange Tree provided a main FPGA-based data acquisition (DAQ)/control board with a dual gigabit Ethernet connection to the host computer, as well as 100Mbit/sec LVDS connection to a remote FPGA-based DAQ board situated 20 metres away.
